Kate Trained at Guys Hospital London. After qualifying she worked in the NHS in South London before moving to the West Country. She continued working in the NHS gaining valuable experience in orthopaedics, rheumatology and all musculoskeletal conditions.
She started in private practice in 1983 and over the years has built a busy MSK practice, specialising in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions such as neck and back pain, sports injuries, painful arthritic conditions, headaches and migraines. Within her scope of practice she has gained knowledge and skills in many treatment techniques. She attends many post graduate courses giving her a wide scope of up to date evidence based skills.
Outside of work she enjoys walking, horse riding, gardening and travel.
Jen graduated from Plymouth University with a first class honours BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy. She then moved to Somerset to work within the NHS for several years. She spent the majority of her time in the musculoskeletal outpatient department, but also gained valuable experience working on the wards and as part of the community rehabilitation team.
Now back in Cornwall, she is working for the Treburley Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic under her maiden name.
In her spare time Jen can often be found on the yard with Colin the patterdale terrier and her young horse Flora.
Her previous foundation degree in Equine Sports Performance and Coaching, combined with her experience as a physiotherapist, means she has a good eye for rider position and biomechanics. She has also competed successfully in both British Eventing and British Dressage competitions.
Jess is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist. She graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a first class honours BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and then moved back home to work in Plymouth. Here as a junior physiotherapist she gained experience in musculoskeletal, neurosurgical, orthopaedic, medical and surgical Physiotherapy. She later specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, rotating as a senior Physiotherapist to gain experience in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. This included ACL rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, rheumatology and burns and plastics.
After moving to Cornwall a few years ago, Jess continues to work as a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist in a busy NHS clinic in Cornwall. In addition to this Jess is now working for Treburley Physiotherapy and Acupuncture clinic one day a week.
Kate began her career at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth before travelling to the French Alps for 6 months to pursue a role as a sports massage therapist in the ski resort of Morzine.
On returning to Plymouth she continued to develop her NHS career as a physiotherapist including gaining experience in orthopaedics and neurology as well as musculoskeletal outpatients. Within outpatients she has also worked as part of the specialist Hands, Burns and Plastics Team treating acute injuries as well as chronic hand and wrist pain.
Kate has also worked privately with local running clubs including elite athletes and England and GB Internationals offering physio and sports massage as well as providing holistic massage for those clients just after a little pampering.
Areas of special interest include treating sports injuries and shoulder pain but she looks forward to welcoming all of Trebur|ey’s clients with a range of interests and needs.
The Treburley Physiotherapy and Acupuncture Clinic has been established since 1983, having been set up by Kate Rashbrooke MCSP and previously based in St Dominick. The clinic is now located in Treburley, midway between Launceston and Callington. There is plenty of free private parking and the clinic can also be accessed by public transport just a 5 minute walk away.
Both clinicians are Chartered Physiotherapists and therefore qualified members of their professional body, the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
All physiotherapists in the UK have to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), which is an independent UK-wide regulator of specific health and social care professions, including physiotherapy.
